On March 15, Melanie Taylor’s and Kellyn Wright’s fifth-grade homerooms participated in “MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition.” Through this live webcast, students were able to see how their favorite myth-busting scientists integrated math and science into their television show. In preparation for the webcast, each student submitted questions for “MythBusters.” During the webcast, the hosts of the show, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, answered some of those questions. This was a unique opportunity for the students because they were able to share the same experience with students all over the country. As part of the webcast, the classes could see how many people or classrooms were watching along with them. At one point during the webcast, there were more than 4,000 people watching.
