Constance “Connie” Weatherly

Mrs. Constance Bowen Weatherly, age 85, a resident of Washington, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at her home. She was known to all she graced as “Connie.”
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2012, at Harvest Church officiated by pastor Thad Tankard.
Mrs. Connie was born in Pantego on Sept. 8, 1926, daughter of the late Howard Washington Bowen and the late Lydia Grey Jackson Bowen. She was a 1942 graduate of Pantego High School. Mrs. Connie married J. Carl Weatherly on June 20, 1945, who 61 years later, preceded her in death on June 6, 2006. She worked for Beaufort County Department of Social Services for 20 years. Mrs. Connie was an active member of Harvest Church until her decline in health. She found great joy in her relationship with her Lord and was dedicated to the happiness of her family and friends. Mrs. Connie was entertained for hours by the writings of Dean Koontz and the pleasure of TV crime drama. She also delighted in the tenor stylings of Mandy Patinkin.
Mrs. Connie is survived by two sons, Joe Weatherly and his wife Sherry of Matthews and Jamie Weatherly and his wife Jennifer of Washington; a daughter, Susan W. Dobbs of Washington; two brothers, Glenn Bowen of Washington and Steve Bowen of Coweta, Okla.; a sister, Loretta Ann Bowen of Alexandria, Va.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Connie is predeceased by a brother, Gene Bowen.
The family will receive friends follow in the service at Harvest Church.
