SOUND OFF: 4/14/12

Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

I’d like to know why the children of Beaufort County can’t have their own personal school books? They have to share books with other students. How are students supposed to learn their work if they can’t bring home books to refresh themselves? Where is the N.C. Eduation Lottery money going?

The new rule thumb is never vote for the same person twice. They will take you to the cleaners every time.

In golf, as in private business or economic development, an accurate scorecard or an honest set of books is required. Blaming the caddy for a shanked golf shot or the economy for a bad business decision is neither helpful or prudent. Taking an uninformed gamble with other people’s money takes no skill at all. Refusing responsibility for its failure takes no courage.
