Mrs. Myrtle Carrow Boyd

Mrs. Myrtle Ruth Carrow Boyd, 92, a resident of 6586 Leary Mills Road, Chocowinity, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, with the Rev. Henry Horne officiating. Scottie Edwards, Glenn Edwards, Buddy Smith, Aaron Coward, Ricky Jones and Cleve Boyd will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on Nov. 2, 1919, to the late Richard R. and Lydia Barrington Carrow and was the last survivor of 13 children. On Dec. 18, 1935, she married Noah Eliaster Boyd who preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1966. She was employed with Singer Furniture.

Survivors include one son, Jerry R. Boyd of Lakeland, Fla.; three daughters, Brenda B. Purser of Vanceboro, Barbara Pantaleo of Chocowinity and Patricia L. Boyd of Grimesland; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Ted Cleve Boyd, Roger Dail Boyd and Rondell Edward Boyd; one daughter, Charlotte Faye Edwards; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. today at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
