Ms. Jamie Powell Respass, 49, a resident of Slate Lane, Greenville, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at her home. A graveside celebration of her life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pamlico Memorial Gardens with Patrick Harrison officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 U.S. Highway 264 E., Washington. Tim Barnes, John Gregory, Richard Lentz, Adam Lozon, John Page and Jeremy Wallace will serve as pallbearers.
Ms. Respass was born Dec. 16, 1962, in Durham County, daughter of the late Elmore Richard and Mary Tyndall Powell. After graduation from high school, Jamie earned her associate degree in surgical technology and was employed as a surgical technician with Vidant Medical Center. Jamie was a member of the American Surgical Tech Association.
Jamie is survived by her children, Victore Leon Respass and wife Victoria Bortz-Respass of Wilmington, Victoria Lee Respass of the home, Veronica Respass Shaul and husband Benjamin Shaul of New Bern, and Virginia Ann Respass of Bath; a brother, Emmanuel Tyndall of Kentucky; a sister, Glenda Powell Lentz of Vernon, Fla., and a grandson, Noah Leon Lozon of Bath.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jamie’s memory to Victoria Lee Respass, 2248 Slate Lane, Greenville, NC 27834.
