SOUND OFF: 5/4/12

Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

I’d like to respond to all smear tactics that are going out in the mail against people running for county commissioner. This does not help the county. It does not help the party. I think it’s pretty low when we step to this type of advertising in our area.

I give your Tuesday front page a B. Enjoyed the stories about the homicide and the bus catches fire. Would have got an A, but the “Animals have a friend in Linda Roberts” story was out of place. It did not deserve to be on the front page. I give the sports page an F for failure. FF for that sports page.

Could you please have some real people to do columns on your editorial page? These local, I guess, columnist wannabes, I care not for their opinions. They have nothing to add to anything but hot air. Is it a matter of money? Is the Daily News going broke? Couldn’t you at least go out and bring in columnists from across the state, the nation?
