Eyes and ears galore

Every so often we receive a less-than-pleased Sound Off call about the Washington Daily News not covering a certain event. That’s certainly understandable.

We do our utmost not to miss any important events happening in our community, but in order to do that we need the community’s help in knowing what’s going on out there, outside the offices of the Washington Daily News.

We often receive news releases about events. We print as many as we can as a service to the community. Requesting coverage for an event, however, requires direct communication with our newsroom. That can happen via phone call, email or

internet. Calling 252-940-4220 will put you in direct contact with the WDN newsroom, and emailing news@wdnweb.com, or any one of the news staff personally, will put an occasion on our radar.

If you are making news, get in touch. Suggest us to your friends if they’re the ones making news. In order to achieve the community-driven, all-local-news publication we strive to be, we need to hear from you. We’ve got lots of eyes and ears, but we could always use more.
