Charles Glennie Campbell Sr.

Charles Glennie Campbell Sr., 86, a resident of 113 E. Church St., Williamston, died Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Vidant Health Center, Greenville.

Campbell was born in Beaufort County on March 16, 1926, son of the late William Eldon Campbell and Cottie Piley. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was owner of Brown-Campbell Interiors.

He married Ellen Everett Campbell on Dec. 20, 1995.

In addition to his wife, Ellen, he is survived by sons Glenn Campbell of Fort Walton, Fla., Hugh Campbell of Frederickburg, Texas, and Clay Campbell of Bear Grass; daughter Pam Floyd of Daytona Beach, Fla.; stepson Mark Etheridge of Raleigh; sister Evelyn Bradshaw of Wilmington; grandchildren Neal Campbell, Kelly White and Andrew White; and step-grandchildren Joshua, Carolina and Christian Etheridge.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Biggs Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Biggs Funeral Home.

At Charles’ request, the family asks that any memorials be given to The Blind Center of Washington or the Humane Society of Beaufort or Martin counties.
