Neal Atkinson (left) is presented with the Rotary International District 7720 Rotarian of the Year award by Washington Noon Rotary President Frank Belote. Atkinson was recognized for his many contributions to providing thousands of Sri Lanka amputees, many of them children, with prosthetic limbs. Their loss of limbs is largely due to injuries resulting from land mines left over from a civil war which ended in mid-2009. This year, Atkinson was also the recipient of Washington Noon Rotary’s “Service Above Self” award.
