Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

Saturday’s headline really hit rock bottom, even for the Washington Daily News. A “peak” is the top of a mountain. If you want to take a look at something, it’s a “peek.”

This is in response to the person who wrote in to Sound Off on Friday, May 18, about the support of Gov. Beverly Perdue and what she said about comparing North Carolina to Mississippi: I believe, if I’m not mistaken, North Carolina was the 30th state to approve and vote for this amendment. How are we the minority in this? Thirty states — I believe there are 50 states in the United States — so looks like to me we are the majority. Maybe she’s wrong, or he’s wrong or whoever submitted that Sound Off.

The majority of the voters in North Carolina voted for Amendment One. Anybody that has a problem with that either needs to get over it or move to another state.
