Memorial Day as a holiday, as it was intended, no longer exists. Memorial Day is a holiday for Bubba Six-pack to grill, to cook out, to go on the river, to skip work, for children to miss school. It would be better suited for people to be at work and for children at school where they could be taught about the sacrifices of the veterans, than having a three-day weekend where people die on these roads because of Bubba Six-pack.
