Jefferson arrested for stealing bank card
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said that fraudulent charges on a stolen bank card landed a Chocowinity man in jail.
The Sheriff’s Office received a report of fraud on May 23 from the victim, who claimed a family member had stolen and made over $500 in charges on a bank card.
A warrant was issued charging William Lane Jefferson, 22, of Old Blounts Creek Road, with financial card theft, obtaining property by false pretense and felony financial card theft. On May 30, Jefferson turned himself in to the Sheriff’s Office, said the press release.
