Louis Henry Griffin, 78, resided in Newport News, Va. He died Friday, May 25, 2012, at Riverside Regional Medical Center.

L.H. was a native of Beaufort County, whose parents Robert L. Griffin Sr. and Sally Bette Stokes Griffin, now deceased, were from Washington.  He was a person who had an innovative spirit who celebrated life in a special way and will be missed deeply.

L.H. is survived by a daughter, Margie Lynn Tankard of Bath; sisters, Antoinette Ferguson from Kansas City, Kans., and Joan Hanson and Carolyn Hill from Washington; brothers, Joey Griffin and Robert L. Griffin Jr. from Washington.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the interment site at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, Saturday, June 9, at 1 p.m. for friends and family.
