I just want to let you know I recently attended the showing of a movie at the Cinema 7 at Washington Square Mall. There was a problem with the projection player that didn’t play the end of the movie and the credits, and the staff at the cinema was more than helpful in making the situation right. I just really appreciate that so much and want to let everybody know we’ve got a wonderful theater in town. You don’t have to drive all the way to Greenville.
You may think it’s nice that the healthy tension between city officials — whose primary concern is saving a penny — and those who want adequate services and safety is gone. But the events of the last week raise the question of when will saving a penny lead to losing lives?
I am confident people who do not understand the fine articles by Walter Williams must love Gene Lyons.
