Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

We all agree that the tape around the Harding Square rose garden is not attractive at special events, but we definitely need the security in the rose garden. Two organizations took turns Friday and Saturday night providing security in the garden. Even then, after they left, one of the other benches was broken. One had already been broken. It’s a fact that there are people who don’t really like gardens. So, therefore, the person who stated about the ribbon (and it’s not ribbon): you’re welcome to come and help provide security by sitting or standing. Better yet, why don’t you contribute to having the benches replaced since they’ve both been broken now?

In response to Thursday’s editorial, I applaud all the proud friends and families of the Washington High School graduates who followed the rules and arrived on time at the stadium. Obviously, they had a contingency plan in place to ensure their prompt arrival at this once-in-a-lifetime event.
