Blanche Moore Marsh

Mrs. Blanche Moore Marsh, a resident of 1513 N. Respess St., Washington, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at her home.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Chocowinity. Burial will follow in the Moore family cemetery in Chocowinity.

Mrs. Marsh was born Feb. 13, 1926, to the late Joseph and Aribell Peed Moore. She was educated in the Beaufort County Schools and furthered her education at Elizabeth City State University and A&T State University. She became an elementary school teacher. Blanche was a retired educator from the Pitt County, Mississippi and Virginia school systems. She was a lifetime member of the Washington Plymouth Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, a charter member of the MLC’s Civic organization, the Helping Hands Senior Citizens organization, N.C. State Retired Educators Association. She was an active member of St. Paul Episcopal Church.

She was married to the late Samuel David Marsh Sr., who preceded her in death.

Blanche is survived by her children: Evangelist Van M. Henderson of Greenville, Samuel D. Marsh Jr. and Arnold J. Marsh, both of Washington; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

An Omega Omega ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. today at Leon Randolph Funeral Home, with visitation following from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.
