Couple arrested for prescription meds sale
The sheriff’s office drug unit made controlled purchases of the meds from Jeremy Johnathan Schmaltz, 31, of 44 Squire Drive, Greenville, and Saundra Renee Barnett, 34, of 1725 Cedar Lane, Apt. B, Greenville, over a period of time and at the time of their arrest, the two were in possession of two medicine bottles filled with the drug, said a representative of the drug unit.
“It was a trafficking amount,” said the spokesman.
According to the sheriff’s office Schmaltz and Barnett lived in Greenville but sold to customers in Beaufort County. Both were charged with three counts each of possession with intent to sell a schedule II controlled substance and trafficking in heroin by transportation and possession.
