Charles Evans, senior vice president and commercial banking executive, recently announced that Matthew J. Byrne has been named vice president and business development officer for the Outer Banks region for East Carolina Bank.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Matthew at East Carolina Bank and partnering with our business customers on the Outer Banks,” Evans said. “His leadership and financial expertise will play a critical role in serving the financial needs of business and commercial customers.”
Byrne brings to ECB more than 20 years’ experience in the banking industry. Most recently, he has held positions in commercial lending with First South Bank and The Bank of Currituck. He previously worked for East Carolina Bank as vice president, senior credit-policy officer and credit-operations manager.
“I am thrilled to be back at East Carolina Bank,” said Byrne. “I look forward to having the support of this outstanding institution as I work with customers in this challenging economic time, and we continue our long-standing commitment to the Outer Banks community.”
