Jeffrey Jarvis, 60, a resident of Greenville,  passed away at home on July 4, 2012.
Jeffrey was born on June 8, 1952, in Lenoir County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Emma Lee Jarvis. He was a member of Ayden United Methodist Church. Jeffrey worked for over 30 years in industrial construction throughout North Carolina. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed NASCAR  racing and photography. In later years, he started wine making and growing a vineyard in the Grifton area. He most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Taylor Jarvis of the home; one son, Taylor Jeffrey Jarvis of the home; a daughter, Anna Jarvis Knox and husband, William, of Greenville; two brothers, Nelson Jarvis, of Columbia, S.C., and Chris Jarvis and wife, Shawn Marie, of Grifton; two sisters, Mary Lai Jarvis of Ayden, and Harriet Emma Jarvis of Atlantic Beach and in-laws Marvin and Ann Taylor of Princeton.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Farmer Funeral Home, Ayden. Burial will be in Ayden Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
