If the Beaufort County Committee of 100 is a private, nonprofit organization, why do the county commissioners pump so many big bucks of our tax money to support this organization?
Concerned residents want to know why, in a disaster situation, the first to arrive are the fire department followed by the condemnation groups. How does this work? We would like it known.
I agree with the Sound Off caller last Thursday about the pit bull. “Put to sleep” is not an accurate word for “death” and for a healthy animal, “euthanized” is not appropriate. “Euthanized” implies mercy killing and not the killing of a healthy animal. So, I would go with “executed” or “killed.”
If you own a golf cart, come to Belhaven and live because you and your 6- to 16-year-old children can drive carts on the street. It’s a miracle we’ve had no bad accidents.
