WASHINGTON – MSgt Retired U.S. Air Force Troy A. Perkins, 56, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Smith Funeral Chapel.

Troy, a native of Pitt County, grew up in the Bethel community and was a 1974 graduate of North Pitt High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1998 as Master Sergeant. He was employed with Impressions Marketing in Washington.

He is preceded in death by his father, brother and son.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Aileen; children Michelle Rollins, Jody Rinehart, Lane, “T.C.”, and Cher Perkins; 10 grandchildren; mother, Fannie Perkins; and six brothers.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
