Nominations are being accepted for the 2013 Governor’s Volunteer Service Award in Beaufort County.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of this program that showcases North Carolina’s most dedicated volunteers. Through the years, North Carolinians have proven their concern and compassion for their neighbors by volunteering in their communities.
Each county selects five individuals, businesses, groups/teams and one director of volunteers to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to their communities. One of the five recipients will be nominated to receive the Governor’s Medallion Award for volunteer service. A local committee evaluates the nominations.
Nomination forms are available in Beaufort County at the following locations:
• Aurora Public Library, 524 Main St., Aurora.
• Belhaven Public Library, 333 E. Main St., Belhaven.
• Bath Community Library, 100 Carteret St., Bath.
• BHM Regional Library, 158 N. Market St., Washington.
