SOUND OFF, July 25

Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

My family recently visited our beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. While there, we spent several hours at Jennette’s Pier at Nags Head, viewing the ocean from an upper deck, watching crowded beaches with people enjoying the sun and surf. I was amazed at the distance that dozens and dozens of seagulls stayed away from the three wind turbines. No dead birds, no near casualties. I’m just saying: what were they thinking, killing jobs and killing clean energy here in Beaufort County?

I hope the city doesn’t put a whole lot of money into the airport because that is just money thrown away on something that will never pay off.
