The Aurora Fire and Rescue Squad will host a hurricane preparedness meeting at 6:30 p.m. today at the Aurora community building. Officials from the National Weather Service, North Carolina Emergency Management, Beaufort County Emergency Management and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office will discuss their roles in preparing for hurricanes and what is needed to be more prepared. All guest speakers as well as representatives of the Aurora Fire Department and Rescue Squad will be available to answer questions.
