Cornelius S. Krajewski

Mr. Cornelius S. “Neil” Krajewski, a resident of 260 Goose Creek Road, Washington, NC, died Friday, August 3, 2012, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
He was born on July 14, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York, the eldest son of Stanley and Cornelia Wagner Krajewski. On October 8, 1950, he married Helen Bruch and had a blessed marriage for sixty-one years. He loved his family dearly, and was always there.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Krajewski, son Neil Krajewski, daughter-in-law, Cara Krajewski, grandchildren, Neil Patrick Krajewski, Kyle Krajewski and Alyssa Krajewski, brothers, Robert Krajewski (Madge), Edward Krajewski (Cecilia), sisters-in-law, Gloria Krajewski and Irene Carey, cousins, Henry and Maureen Wagner and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stanley Krajewski.
Mr. Krajewski served his country in the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant from the U.S. Army. He continued his education and graduated from RCA Institute. He was employed by IBM and enjoyed his thirty-four year career.
Mr. Krajewski resided in Poughkeepsie, New York for thirty years. He was a volunteer firefighter with the La Grange, New York Fire Department for twenty-seven years and was always proud of his Captain’s badge. Mr. Krajewski was a member of the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club where he served as Commodore and enjoyed power boating for many years. He retired from IBM in 1990 and the following year relocated to Washington, NC to enjoy a happy retirement. Mr. Krajewski was a member of Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Tau Tribe # 18, Improved Order of Red Men, Masonic Lodge # 675 A.F. & A.M. and VFW Post # 6088.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, NC.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m.,Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church officiated by Father M. Arturo Cabra. Mr. Krajewski’s grandchildren; Neil Patrick Krajewski, Kyle Krajewski and Alyssa Krajewski along with Richard Gerard, Bobby Jackson, Leslie Jordan and Henry Wagner will serve as pallbearers.
