HILLSBOROUGH — Mrs. Helen Maxine Claiborne Cox, 81, wife of Rev. M.E. Cox, passed away August 7, 2012, after a long term of sickness.
Mrs. Cox was 81 years old, born in Vance County, but spent most of her young life in Washington, N.C. Married Rev. Cox in 1960 and joined him in the Ministry the rest of her life. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Cox Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. M.E. Cox; one daughter, Sheila Walsh of Durham; two grandchildren, Alex B. Brown II of Atlanta, Ga., and Shannon Brown Reisen of Washington, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Tristan T. Brown of Atlanta and Skylar Reisen of Washington.
Memorial services will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Carlee Stallard and Rev. Ronnie Bradford.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m., before the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Cox will be taken to Washington, N.C. for interment at Oakdale Cemetery where there will be a graveside service.
