Nettie Brame Thomas, age 84, a resident of Chocowinity, NC, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville, NC.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Tad Tankard. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Buck, Brandon Boyd, Phillip Boyd, Sammy House, Alexander Lopez and Bonnie Woolard.
Ms. Thomas was born in Chocowinity, NC on July 29, 1928, the daughter of the late George Washington Brame and Nettie Elizabeth Brame. She was a beautician and owned and operated Nettie’s Beauty Shop for fifty plus years until her retirement. Ms. Thomas loved her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Valerie Boyd and husband Phillip of Washington, NC; Linda Woolard and husband Bonnie of Washington, NC and Tammy Lopez and husband Alexander of Arlington, Texas; one sister, Madeline Catalano of Virginia Beach, VA; five grandchildren, Christy House, Sandy Woolard, Brandi Buck, Brandon Boyd and Tami Lopez and six great-grandchildren, Larry Woolard IV, Matthew Buck, Cole Buck, Brittany Craig, Payton Woolard and Tyler Rowe. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Ann McLean, six brothers, Willie Brame, Luther Brame, Norman Brame, David Brame, Guy Brame and Gennie Brame, two sisters, Nora Coghill and Flora Richards.
