Sail on

The Little Washington Sailing School, formerly Little Washington Sailing Club, completed its fourth year of teaching the basics of sailing to beginning, young sailors with success.
LWSS is becoming more self-sufficient with each season. A self-sufficient LWSS means the club would be less reliant on sponsorship money, which has been greatly appreciated by LWSS, but it cannot operate without the continued support of sponsors.
Damage to boats and a dock did not deter LWSS from expanding its offerings this past season, providing advanced classes for the first time. Interest in advanced classes is evidence LWSS is on the right track with its sailing classes for youthful beginners.
Perhaps it’s time for LWSS to consider offering beginning sailing classes for adults.
It’s commendable LWSS offers scholarships to children who otherwise would not be exposed to sailing. That’s a part of the program that would continue every year.
LWSS is an asset to the community.
Sail on, LWSS.
