Lois Ann O’Neal Ball

Mrs. Lois Ann O’Neal Ball, age 77, a resident of 103 Pontiac Dr., Washington, NC, died Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Pastor Jerry Waters and Pastor Larry W. Ball. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Junior Haddock, Michael Ball, Jay Hardison, Larry Ingalls, Jr. Larry Ball, Jr., Jimmy Ball, Jr. and Gary Vick will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Ball was born in Pitt County on July 5, 1935, daughter of the late Johnny William O’Neal, Sr. and the late Annie Viola Jones O’Neal. She attended Pitt County Schools. Mrs. Ball married James Ashley Ball on March 31, 1951, who preceded her in death on October 19, 1980. She was a homemaker who assisted her family on the farm. Mrs. Ball loved God and her family and provided many home cooked meals. Mrs. Ball loved everyone and was loved by all.
Mrs. Ball is survived by two daughters: Brenda B. Brann and her husband Ricky of Washington and Lorrie B. Hardison and her husband Perry of Chocowinity; a son: Larry M. Ball and his wife Mary Ann of Washington; a daughter-in-law: Rhonda Adams of Chocowinity; a brother: Thomas Wayne O’Neal of Summerville, SC; two sisters: Gloria Jean Ludwig of Hubert, NC and Marie Simpkins of Washington; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a special caregiver: Mrs. Donnie Ruth Woolard and many nieces and nephews including a special help mate Gary Vick. Mrs. Ball is predeceased by two sons: Jimmie Wayne Ball, Sr. and Johnny Ray Ball; a granddaughter: Christina Ball Sutton; a daughter-in-law: Beverly Ball; three brothers: Johnny William O’Neal, Jr., Kirby L. O’Neal and Bobby Ray O’Neal, Sr. and a sister: Betty Faye Winslow.
The family will receive friends 6 PM to 8 PM Monday, August 13, 2012, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
