WILMINGTON (AP) — Sheriff’s deputies in New Hanover County have arrested two adults after finding them with two teenagers under the influence of an hallucinogenic drug.
Sgt. J.J. Brewer said a deputy on patrol noticed the four at Fort Fisher State Park and thought they were arguing. Once he reached them, the deputy determined that they were hallucinating.
Authorities determined that 28-year-old Raynond Joseph Jones and 35-year-old Melissa Carin Creekmore had ingested the synthetic drug 2C-I, and had also given it to Creekmore’s 16-year-old daughter and her 15-year-old friend.
Jones and Creekmore are jailed on charges of felony child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. It’s not known if either have an attorney.
Creekmore’s daughter is in DSS custody, while the daughter’s friend was released to her mother.
