Ms. Rebekah Ruth Herron Piper, age 39, a resident of Washington, NC, died Saturday, August 18, 2012. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at 1:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Greg Hershberger.
Rebekah was born in Alexandria, VA on February 19, 1973. She was raised in Alexandria by her parents, Judy and Denis Baxter. Rebekah graduated from Hayfield High School in Alexandria. She was an Eye Care Technician with Doctor’s Vision Center, Greenville. Rebekah served her country in the U.S. Army.
In addition to her parents, Rebekah is survived by her children, Eleanor, Ein and Amelia, her siblings, Valette Piper-Bledsoe (Alex Bledsoe, Jacob Piper & Charlie Bledsoe) of Mt. Horeb, WI, Abby Piper Rutledge (David & Amy) of Fairfax, VA, Nate Piper of Fairfax, VA, Randal Baxter (Kim, Ryan, & Matthew) of Jacksonville, FL, Greg Baxter (Vickie, Anthony &Nicholas) of Haymarket, VA, Starr Piper Parrish (Mitchell, Tayler Hines & Kaylie Shupe) of Richmond, VA and Seth Piper (Kat) of Fredericksburg, VA, her great-grandparents, Ken and Edna Abernathy of Vero Beach, FL, her father, Blane LaFave Piper and her former husband, Bobby Herron.
So many people remember Becci for her joyful, fun-loving spirit and ability to squeeze the most out of life, every day. Her gorgeous smile and gregarious nature brought many friends, and her loving, caring nature kept them. She was a wonderful mother, a loving daughter, an amazing sister and a great friend. In accordance with her wishes and generous nature, her organs and tissues were donated so that others could live and enjoy a better quality of life.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made toward the children’s college fund.
