Two Chocowinity men were arrested, charged with a string of car break-ins last month.
On July 12, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to several reports of breaking and entering on Carrow Road, said a press release from the sheriff’s office.
Maj. Kenneth Watson, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said the crimes had taken place overnight, but were reported starting at 7 a.m. the next morning.
A sheriff’s office investigation led to Dustin Lee Hudson, 19, of Hodges Road, Chocowinity, and Christopher James Trivette, 19, of Victory Lane, Chocowinity, said the release. Both men were already being held in the Pitt County Detention Center on similar charges. Each man was served Beaufort County warrants for six counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and five counts of misdemeanor larceny while in custody.
Watson said items stolen from the vehicles on Carrow Road were typical items you’d find in a motor vehicle: loose change, CDs, stereo equipment and GPS systems.
