Freda “Irene” Cratt Hamilton

Mrs. Freda “Irene” Cratt Hamilton, age 80, a resident of 201 East 2nd Street, Robersonville, died Monday, August 6, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 25, 2012, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Dr. James O. Hagwood. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
Mrs. Hamilton’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Hamilton was born in Kings County, N.Y., on May 15, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Turner Cratt and Zula Mae Ingalls Cratt. Mrs. Hamilton graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1950. She was a bookkeeper for Hardee Tobacco Warehouse in Robersonville, retiring in 1996.
Mrs. Hamilton was a member of First Baptist Church in Robersonville, where she was a choir member, a Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher, and the WMU. She was a past member of the Martin County Humane Society. While living in New York, Mrs. Hamilton served as a Girl Scout Leader for 22 years.
Survivors include two sisters, Eva Mae Newelt of Valley Village, CA, and Patricia Ann Hebbard of Cedar Park, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
