WOOLARD

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested the man they believe responsible for a July theft at Wooded Acres Group Home on Cherry Road, Washington, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release.
William Steve Woolard Jr., 32, of Dan Taylor Road, Washington, was arrested Aug. 29, and charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny.
Maj. Kenneth Watson, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said the suspect took approximately $600 from the home the night of July 22.
“Part of it was petty cash, part of it was personal cash that was stored in different locations within the group home,” Watson said, adding that Woolard has an extensive criminal history with the Sheriff’s Office.
According to Watson, investigators homed in on Woolard because Woolard, who had a relative working at the home, was seen by witnesses in the area where the money was stolen.
Woolard was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $3,000 secured bond.
