David Phillip Glisson

David Phillip Glisson, 80, a resident of 209 N. Edgewood Ave., Williamston, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at Biggs Chapel with the Rev. Pat Patton officiating. Burial will be in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Glisson was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Pitt County, son of Arthur Glisson and Hattie Mae Overton Glisson. He was a retired district manager of Peoples Security Life Insurance Co. He was a member of Vernon United Methodist Church. Glisson married Christine Bedard on Nov. 14, 1949, who died Jan. 31, 2008.
He is survived by his sons, David Glisson Jr. of Levexa, Kan., and Clay Glisson of Springfield, Tenn.; daughter, Kimberly G. Peters of Greenville; sister, Audrey Whitley of Greenville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston, and other times at the residence.
