Elmer Hilton Keech

Elmer Hilton Keech, 82, of 7470 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, died at his home on Sunday evening, September 16, 2012, after a long illness.
Born in Beaufort County, January 4, 1930, he was the son of the late Hilton and Susie Windley Keech. In 1948, he married the love of his life, Fannie G. Keech to whom he was married for 57 years prior to her preceding him in death on August 7, 2005. He was a 1946 graduate of Pantego High School and was a retired self-employed tobacco farmer. He was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church and was always cared for by his four girls in a special way.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Free Union Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Tony Parrish will officiate. Burial will follow in the Elmer Keech Family Cemetery at the home.
Surviving are his four daughters, Diana K. Cahoon and husband, Joseph of Pinetown, Glenda Keech of the home, Kathy K. Midyette and husband, Al of Pinetown and Janet K. Hudson and husband, Roger of Pantego; a brother, Linwood G. Keech of Pinetown; a sister, Nellie Mae K. Dixon of Pinetown; ten grandchildren, Natalie C. Tucker of Cary, Anita C. Radcliffe of Pinetown, Joey Cahoon of Winterville, Lewis H. Cahoon of Greenville, Jena C. Tunnell of Greenville, Lisha C. Carawan of Swan Quarter, Emalie H. Gainey of Goldsboro, Madison E. Hudson of Raleigh, April Midyette of Pinetown and Amanda M. Hanna of Pinetown; 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Delmer Keech and a sister, Mildred K. Andreoli.
The family pays special tribute to caregivers who have been so faithful including Tar Heel Medical Transport Staff, Gentiva Home Care and Asera Hospice.
Memorials are suggested to Free Union Free Will Baptist Church Youth Group, 4961 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, NC 27845.
The family will receive friends at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church on Tuesday evening between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
