The Rev. Jack Warren Byrd, 87, of Sterlingworth Street, Windsor, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 at Cashie Baptist Church by Dr. Carroll Tarkington. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Walker Funeral Home from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and at other times from the home. Walker Funeral Home, Windsor is serving the Byrd family.
