Gene Smith of 968 Respess St., Washington, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at the University of North Carolina Hospital, Chapel Hill. Arrangements will be announced by the Bonner Street Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington. The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, 118 Randolph St., Washington.
