Mr. Marvin J. Weathers, 49, of Grimesland, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center.
A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday at 2 pm in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Weathers was born in Georgia, but lived most of his adult life in Pitt County. He served in the United States Air Force. Marvin was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing as well and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Marvin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Sarah Lanier of Grimesland and Gladys Weathers of Cordele, GA.
He is survived by his: parents, Billy Sr. and Marsha Weathers of Grimesland; brother, Billy Weathers Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Washington; sister, Marcie Southward and husband, Andy, of Greenville; step-children, Brian, Brandon and Nikki, whom he thought of affectionately as his own, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins all of Greenville.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the parent’s home.
