Capt. Freddy C. Adams

Capt. Freddy Cooper Adams, age 76, a resident of 32 Mouth of the Creek Road, Chocowinity, died Thursday evening, November 1, 2012, at his home.
A funeral service will be held 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington officiated by Larry Minor.
Capt. Adams was born in Carteret County on June 22, 1936, son of the late Charles and Rebecca Marie Austin Adams. On August 20, 1960, he married the former Ada Ercelle Ball who survives. He was employed for 24 years as distribution supervisor at PCS. Capt. Adams served his country in the United States Army for 20 years where he pulled two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was retired Captain of Special Forces as a chopper pilot. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In addition to his wife, Ada, of the home, he is survived by his son: Anthony Adams and wife Lisette of Raleigh; his daughter-in-law, Audrey Adams of the home; his grandchildren:  SFC Charles Cooper Adams of Washington State, Teresa Lewis, Rebecca Adams, Nicholas Adams and Conner Adams; his brother: Ray Adams of Beaufort; two sisters: Deanie Jones and husband Myron of Morehead and Faye Guthrie of Morehead; his cousin: Phyllis Gentry and Gary of Morehead. In addition to his parents, his son Charles Ray Adams preceded in death on April 4, 2009, and his brother Bryan Adams.
The family will receive friends 3:00-4:45 prior to the service on Sunday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
