Mrs. Eunice Simmons Thomas

Mrs. Eunice Simmons Thomas, age 99, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Roman Eagle Memorial Home in Danville, VA.
Born August 30, 1913, in Rutherford County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Moses Cecil Simmons and Mamie Ramsey Simmons. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Washington, NC.
She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey Wofford Thomas; a baby son, Thomas Alan Thomas; and three sisters, Eula Simmons Frye, Truby Simmons Haynes and Eufra Simmons Morgan.
Survivors include two daughters, Bette Thomas Rogers, and husband Frank Faison, of Danville, VA, and Sandra Thomas, of Asheville, NC; a son, Aubrey Wofford Thomas, Jr., and wife Leslie, of Washington, NC; seven grandchildren, Sidney Mills Rogers, III, and wife Jennie, of Marietta, GA, Nancy Gwendolyn Yarbrough, and husband Jeffrey, of Danville, VA, Thomas Fitzgerald Rogers, and wife Christine, of Richmond, VA, Chris Hight and Eric Hight, both of Davidson, NC, Elizabeth Thomas, of Durham, NC and John Thomas, of Washington, NC; and six great-grandchildren, Anne Rogers, Mills Rogers, IV, Jeffrey Yarbrough, Matthew Yarbrough, Fitz Rogers, Jr. and Emily Rogers.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Roman Eagle Memorial Home for the care given to Mrs. Thomas.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
