Kathleen “Kathy” Gluck Riddick

Kathleen “Kathy” Gluck Riddick, a resident of Nellysford, Va., and formerly of Belhaven, N.C., peacefully passed away on November 14, 2012. She is survived by her husband Michael Riddick, a son Justin Bleicher, stepchildren Michael Riddick, Jr. and Anna Winslow and their families, brothers Mike Gluck and Bob Gluck of upstate New York and their families, and a large extended family in Virginia and North Carolina.
Kathy was born and raised in Utica, N.Y. She studied liberal arts at Alfred State College and electrical engineering at Old Dominion University. She co-founded Wintergreen Winery, Inc. with her husband and they operated the business until retiring in 1999. She was an avid hiker, gardener, and great lover of animals. She was very proud of having thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail at age 59. She was caring and generous with a loving soul. She will be missed for her warm smile, unfailing faith, hopeful countenance, strong courage, and deep love for family.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Massie’s Mill, Va., at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012. The family will receive friends immediately after the service with a reception in the fellowship hall. The burial will be private.
