Alma Stokes Mills, 66, of Winterville, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Mills, a native of Greenville, enjoyed sewing and all types of needle work. She loved being with family and friends, and traveling with the camping clubs in all 50 states and many provinces of Canada. She was an avid fisherman until her health prevented her from going. She was a member of Oakmont Baptist Church.
She is survived by: her husband of 48 years, William Mills; son, W. Patrick Mills and wife, Treva, of Greenville; grandchildren, Skylar, Makenzie and Carter Mills; sister, Nancy Everett and husband, Ray, of Greenville; brothers, James “Tom” Stokes and wife, Florence, of Greenville, Fred Stokes and wife, Carol, of Chapin, SC, and Melvin Stokes and wife, Anne, of Gastonia, NC; brothers in-law, Charles Mills and wife, Faye, of Rocky Mount, and John Brewer, of Greenville; and sisters in-law, Darlene Smith and husband, Calvin, of Greenville, Mary Ann Stokes, of Goldsboro, and Louise Stokes, of Greenville.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Thomas Lee and his staff at Physicians East and Dr. Dean Patton and his staff at Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice for their loving care.
