Mrs. Isabel “Tuck” Bowers Dixon, age 88, a resident of 166 Robersonville Road, Washington, died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2013, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, conducted by Pastor Henry Horne and Pastor Rodney Bragg. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington.
The following will serve as pallbearers:  Ricky Peed, Harold Tyson, Jr., Chris Dixon, Brandon Tyson, M.G. Wobbleton, Miles Wobbleton, Todd Gaskins and Mark Peed.
Mrs. Dixon was born in Edgecombe County on March 29, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Owens Bowers, Sr. and Lillie Ayers Bowers. Mrs. Dixon was a homemaker, which included raising her children and making homemade biscuits. She was a member and Past Secretary of the Pactolus Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Dixon was a former member of the Home Demonstration Club in Pactolus.
On August 10, 1938, she married Charlie J. Dixon, Sr. who preceded her in death, May 28, 1997.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by four daughters, Shirley D. Deal (Bryan) of Chocowinity, Carolyn D. Tyson (Harold) of Washington, Judy D. Tyson of Washington, Betty D. Vaughan (Donald) of Keysville, VA; one son, Charlie J. Dixon, Jr. (Judy) of Vanceboro; two sisters, Sarah B. Lee and Marie B. Tyer both of Washington; two brothers, Sam O. Bowers, Jr. of Pactolus and R.B. Bowers of Riverdale, GA; brother-in-law, Ralph Langley of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren and her “River Trace Nursing Home Family”.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy B. Langley; two sons-in-law, Billy Ray Tyson and Richard D. Peed, Sr.; grandson, Terry Deal; three great-grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Gaskins, Heather Grace Wiggins, Steele Douglas Bennett and one great-great-grandchild, Brenan Isiah Wiggins.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and other times at her home, 166 Robersonville Road, Washington.
