On Sunday, March 10, 2013, Hazel Thompson Sadler, peacefully left this earth at the age of 94, yet she will stay in our hearts and minds forever.
Born in Hyde County, September 20, 1918, she was the daughter of the late George and Rosa Williams Thompson of Swan Quarter. She was temporarily residing at Cross Creek Health Care.
She lived her life in Swan Quarter and was married to the late Charlie Sadler. She devoted her life to being a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a hardworking woman in and outside of her home. She was a lively, strong willed and amazing woman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the family plot in Soule Cemetery. Pastor Mike Wheeler will officiate.
Surviving are three sons, Larry Paul Sadler of Swan Quarter, Gary Wayne Sadler and wife Lynn of Swan Quarter, Stewart Eugene Sadler and wife Kelly of Brunswick, GA; a daughter Patsy S. Newman and husband Mitchell of Swan Quarter; and son-in-law, Sammie Williams of Swan Quarter, thirteen grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son Glenn Sadler, a daughter Diana S. Williams; grandsons Marty Dean Sadler and Charlie Eugene Sadler; sisters Pauline T. Cahoon, Ernestine T. Cuthrell; two brothers, Norman Thompson and Curtis Thompson; a daughter in-law Betty Sadler.
Memorial contributions can be made to Cross Creek Health Care, 1719 Quarter Rd., Swan Quarter, NC 27885.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mitchell and Patsy Newman, 375 Main Street, Swan Quarter.
