Spencer Stanley, president-elect of Washington Noon Rotary presents a $1,250 donation to Summer Woodard, executive director of the Greater Pamlico Area and Pitt County chapters of the American Red Cross.
March is Red Cross month when local chapters nationwide conduct their annual HEROES fund raising campaigns. In addition to soliciting individual and corporate donations the Greater Pamlico Area chapter is selling tickets for it’s annual (golf) ball drop to be held at Warren Field Airport in Washington on April 6 at 11 a.m. Winners will receive cash prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250 respectively for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Tickets are $20 per ball or 6 for $100 and can be purchased at the Greater Pamlico Area Chapter at 135 N. Market Street, Washington.
Proceeds benefit the vital mission services of the American Red Cross. There will be a HEROES victory party following the ball drop with refreshments and awards at the Beaufort County Agricultural Extension office next to the airport. For more information regarding how you can participate in the ball drop, make a HEROES donation or become a Red Cross volunteer, contact your local chapter by calling 252-946-4110 or email summer.woodard@redcross.org.
