Evidence from larceny on Mill Road in Washington pointed Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office investigators in the direction of Kimberly Dawn Wendeln, 39, of U.S. Highway 264 East, Swanquarter.

The larceny was reported on March 12 — a credit card had been stolen and a number of items had been purchased with it in another jurisdiction, said Maj. Kenneth Watson, sheriff’s office spokesman. Watson said Wendeln was living with the victim at the time of the theft.

Wendeln was charged with financial card theft by local law enforcement, along with other charges from other jurisdictions. On March 28, when Wendeln was charged, she was being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on related charges.
