Charles Brinkley Garrett

Mr. Charles Brinkley Garrett, age 57, a resident of Fredrick Rd., Chocowinity, NC, died on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, April11, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor David Pooser. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC and other times at the home of his daughter, Barbara Wilkins, 250 Mansfield Rd., Washington, NC.
Charles was born in Beaufort County on February 17, 1956 son of the late Ira and Sarah Woolard Garrett. He graduated from Bath High School in 1974 and married the former Darlene Fornes. Charles worked in the maintenance department at PCS for 35 years. He was a member of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club of Beaufort County.
In addition to his wife he is survived by her daughter, Barbara Wilkins and her husband Dewey “Dee” Wilkins of Washington; his brothers, Rivie Garrett of Lubbock, TX and Ira Simmons Garrett, Jr. of Chocowinity; his sisters, June Roberson and husband Billy of Washington, Barbara Herring of Sidney and Carolyne Everett and husband Wayne of Pinetown; and one granddaughter, Leah DeAnn Wilkins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Everett.
