Harold Edmond Woolard

Mr. Harold Edmond Woolard, age 86, a resident of Broad Creek Rd., Washington, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Tony Krantz. Burial will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Aaron Douglas, Dal Latham, Phil Black, Frankie Black, Charles Woolard and John Charles Woolard will serve as pallbearers. Jack Schulz, Bill Halbren, Dr. Buck Rish and Richard Craig will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC and other times at the home.
Harold was born in Beaufort County on May 6, 1926 son of the late Ottis Winfield Woolard and Martha Boyd Woolard. He graduated from Washington High School in 1944. He worked as a salesman at Paul Auto Supply for 27 years retiring in 1992. Harold was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ and the Travelers Protective Association. He served his country in the U. S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah Harris Woolard; two daughters, Martha “Marty” Delores Woolard and Cheryl Woolard Brantley and husband Shady, both of Washington; one son, Harold “Hal” Edmond Woolard, Jr. and wife Garleen of Washington; One sister, Mary Mills; four grandchildren, Monica Keefe and husband Glenn of Winterville, Ray Scott III and wife Tonya of Grimesland, Sara Woolard of Washington, Lauren James and husband Nathan “Nate” of Raleigh; five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, and Anna LaVee Scott, and Brooke and Emily Keefe; two step-children, Lane Harris and wife Terry of Pinehurst and Ronnie Harris and wife Connie of Washington; and five step-grandchildren, Lane Harris, Jr., Nicholas Harris, Jon Harris, Ashley Harris, and Reid Harris; and two step great-grandchildren, Lawson Goltra and Landon Harris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, LaVee Rowley Woolard; three sisters, Hilda Latham, Alva Douglas and Mattie Black; and three brothers, Charlie Walter Woolard, O.B. Woolard and William Earl “Billy” Woolard..
