Water-system work scheduled

As part of the state-required regular maintenance of its water distribution system, the City of Washington will be feeding free chlorine into the city’s water system from Monday to May 20. Some customers might notice a slight increase of chlorine taste and odor.
Also, fire hydrant testing will take place the week of May 20.
Testing will involve flushing water from fire hydrants. Customers may notice some cloudiness in their tap water during the testing period because of sediments floating in the water lines. The discoloration is harmless and will clear up after a short period.
Anyone with questions should call the Public Works Department at 975-9302.
